Reflecting on 2014 Bowral Long Lunch

Another huge success on Sunday 19th October 2014, with 250 people participating in this unique event for the benefit of local youth mental health.

The silver and white theme was reminder us to reflect on the friends and family coping with mental health issues.  Coty Farquhar’s brilliant creativity delivered a sparkling, fluttering table of decorations.  Even our iced water delivery – Allan Cupitt on a bike was dressed to match.  He was relieved for a spell by The Hon Jai Rowell, MP.  our new Member for Wollondilly and then Minister for Mental Health.

Many locals and out-of-towners including Gai and Robbie Waterhouse and Tim and Janet Storrier who very much enjoyed the sense of community and the spirit of the day. We had 100 volunteers who all gave freely of their time to support the community and we say Thank You to them all and also to Council for their support.  How did they find the energy to dance as well?

Patron Tony Bilson and our 2014 Ambassador, Geoff Jansz joined the fun.
Vice President of the Childrens Foundation, Ross Stone said, “An extraordinary success with scores of volunteers coming together in the interests of local youth mental health needs at a unique event that included great food; good humour and the spirit of sharing – all under perfect skies. Congratulations to this wonderful community.”
